How to create a new Custom Page in Microsoft Word

Custom Paper allows the designer to select from a range of different paper types. When designing a page the specification values are used to determine the quality and the type of paper. These are the values for the paper’s weight and density, thread count, surface texture, fiber content, and surface texture. Once the designer has decided on the paper’s grade, they can define the dimensions for each of the four principal areas: border, background, text, and background images.

The two most popular options for customizing the paper weight and width can be set in the General Settings section of the Layout and Visualization dialog box. The [Width Setting] and [ Height Settingsections determine the dimensions of the text. The Output Size Setover section determines the size of the output window. The third section, called the ‘Advanced’ section, includes options for advanced features, such as auto layout and auto formatting.’ The fourth section, called the Default Allocations setting, regulates different allocation options like the use of default color and theme values, as well as whether to include printer-set background and foreground background colors.

To adjust the size of a document, you must first open the General Settings tab. Then click on the Custom-size button. The custom size button will appear as a double line at the bottom of the General Settings panel. Highlight it and click on it to bring up the tool for customizing size. Enter a number for the custom size and click OK. To alter the sizes of other papers, access the Add New Styles dialog box and select the desired sizes. After you have done customizing the page, click OK.

To change the default theme color, click the Change Themes button. The page layout preview displays the current theme and can be modified. To change the font color, click the Select Style button. Certain older computers may not be compatible with the most recent printer drivers. In these instances it is possible to install the appropriate driver before printing. Follow the on-screen directions to install the software , and then use the driver software to update the printer drivers.

Once the Print Driver Software is installed, the user will need to select custom paper sizes in the Print menu. The user will have a choice of four custom sizes – Courier, Arial, Glass Lettering, and Roman. Use the buttons to change the size of the custom pages. Some useful tools are also available in the Print menu, allowing users to select custom margins or sidebars. When the pages are completed, click on the print button.

In the printer’s properties dialog box, you will see the new size of the paper. If necessary the user wants to alter the settings of the printer. To save changes, click on the Save tab, and then click on the ok button.
